The Midland Railway - Butterley

The Midland Railway - Butterley, is home to model and miniature railways, as well as collection of heritage steam and diesel locomotives. The Railway features 3.5 miles of line and has three main areas for visitors to explore. Visitors can also enjoy exploring the Matthew Kirtley Building (Railway Museum), the West Shed Experience and the Victorian Railwayman's Church.

Free entry for badge holders

The Midland Railway is one of over 200 attractions around the UK that Blue Peter badge holders can get into for free.

To gain free entry, each child must have a Blue Peter badge, a valid Blue Peter badge ID card and be accompanied by a full paying or concessionary adult. If a paying adult is accompanied by two children with badges and valid badge cards, free entry will be given for both children.

The entry fee will apply to all visitors during special events and Santa specials. It also applies to the Golden Valley Light Railway and Butterley Park Miniature Railway.
