Polka Theatre

Polka is a dedicated children’s venue for 0-12 year olds. As a state-of-the-art hub for families, it offers two theatres, indoor and outdoor play spaces, a café and shop.

Following a major renovation in 2021, Polka presents a year-round programme of new and visiting shows, and Creative Learning workshop activities for 0–12 year-olds. They continue to pioneer developments in children’s theatre, nurture artistic talent in the sector, and maintain an international reputation while serving local communities. Children are involved at every stage of the creative process and lead the way in Early Years theatre. Creative Learning is central to Polka’s mission – with shows supported by tailored community and school initiatives. In 2024 Polka Theatre was named the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre at the UK Theatre Awards, Merton Borough’s Best Business, and Time and Leisure’s Family Attraction of the Year. Polka Theatre is a Charity and is grateful for the continued support of Arts Council England and the many charitable trusts, business partners and individuals that continue to support the vital work of the theatre.

Free entry for badge holders

The Polka Theatre is one of over 200 attractions around the UK participating in the Blue Peter Badge Attraction Scheme, meaning that Blue Peter badge holders can get free entry to selected Polka-produced shows at the theatre.

To gain free entry, each child must have a Blue Peter badge, a valid Blue Peter badge ID card and be accompanied by a full paying or concessionary adult. If a paying adult is accompanied by two children with badges and valid badge cards, free entry will be given for both children.

If a disabled badge holder is accompanied by a registered carer, both can gain free entry.

Free badge holder entry is only valid at selected Polka-produced shows at Polka. Tickets must be booked directly with Polka Theatre at the same time as booking in the badge holder. The booker must contact the Box Office to check which shows and performances are available to badge holders. The free entry cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Polka reserves the right to remove a performance from the offer at any time.

Offer does not apply to the Creative Learning Workshops.
