Hop aboard our time capsule to 10th century York, and take in the sights, sounds and even the smells – including rotting fish and cabbages - of the Viking Age city. Dig deeper into the Viking story of York by getting close-up with a rare collection of 1,000-year-old-artefacts and chat to friendly Vikings who can tell you more about life on Coppergate! From real skeletons which can be digitally examined to show ailments and injuries, to Viking-age instruments and music, everyone is invited to dig deeper into the Viking story of York using the latest in cutting-edge technology located throughout the centre.

Free entry for badge holders

Jorvik Viking Centre is one of over 200 attractions around the UK that Blue Peter badge holders can get into for free.

To gain free entry, each child must have a Blue Peter badge, a valid Blue Peter badge ID card and be accompanied by a full paying or concessionary adult. If a paying adult is accompanied by two children with badges and valid badge cards, free entry will be given for both children.

If a disabled badge holder is accompanied by a registered carer, both can gain free entry. Carers must bring supporting documents.

All customers must pre-book their tickets to JORVIK Viking Centre. Visitors who haven’t pre-booked will be asked to do so for the next available slot. Please select the ‘FREE JORVIK Blue Peter Badge holder’ ticket in the free offers section.
