We've been blessed with some beautiful weather this week although I know some people have found it a bit too hot at times with temperatures rising into the mid to high twenties Celsius.
It's the best spell of summer weather we've had in Wales in July since 2006 when temperatures soared to 34.6°C in Ceredigion. The jet stream has finally moved away to the north of the UK and this has allowed high pressure to move in from the Azores bringing us plenty of warm air and sunshine.

Last Sunday Cardiff reached 28.3°C but we could beat that tomorrow making it the hottest day of the year so far. Highest temperatures are likely in Monmouthshire rising to 29°C in Usk.
Coastal areas won't be so hot and toasty with gentle sea breezes but still warm and sunny with temperatures around 20°C.

Next week, little change is expected. High pressure will keep things dry, settled and warm or very warm. There is no sign of any rain on the horizon; just a small chance of a shower.
It could change but at the moment, I reckon there's a good chance of fine weather for the Royal Welsh Show in Llanelwedd.
