Things are hotting up for Wales this week! We're likely to see our warmest days of the year so far. The current record is 24.4 °C, which was set in Cardiff on Thursday 11 June, but we're likely to exceed that on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It’ll be a fine, warm and dry Monday afternoon across Wales with long sunny spells. There may be a little more fair weather cloud pushing in to the west later. We’ll experience warm southerly winds and top temperatures of 18 to 22°C.

There’s bad news for those who suffer from hay fever. The pollen count is very high, lower though on some coasts with sea breezes. There’ll also be very high UV levels.
Monday evening will be fine, though there’s an outside chance of an isolated shower further north and west. There’ll be increasing humidity though, so quite muggy with the lowest temperatures overnight between 13 and 16°C.
On Tuesday the winds turn more south-easterly and that change in wind direction means we start to draw up humid air from North Africa and the Mediterranean. So if anything, it’s going to turn even warmer!
Tuesday will also see some early coastal mist and fog. Any patchy cloud will burn back in the strong June sunshine. There’ll be fairly light south-easterly winds, bringing increased humidity, with temperatures creeping up into the mid, possibly even high 20s.

There’ll be more of the same on Wednesday with long sunny spells. With the heat building, the humidity could trigger the odd thunder shower. It’s hard to say exactly where, but temperatures will go up again to the mid to high 20s. Enjoy, because it’ll probably be the warmest day of the week! From Wednesday night into Thursday a weak, cold front that's been hovering in the Atlantic will spread eastwards across Wales.
So, as the heat builds through the middle of the week, humid and unstable air will bring the risk of thunder showers. But, we should swap that continental air for a slightly fresher more Atlantic influence for the end of the week, and it should remain warm. At the moment, it’s looking warm and fine into the weekend too.
