A fair proportion of the country bled copiously from sports-related wounds on Saturday.
I'm not unsympathetic. In fact, I'd like to think that this week's show could offer succour and comfort to the injured and downcast. Music, you see, won't bash you about. It doesn't raise your expectations and then dash them so cruelly.
Sure, a band can release a rubbish album but you'll always have something better to turn to.
Unless your musical horizons begin and end with Kasabian.
If they do, I can't help you, sorry.
All those tears when Take That and Westlife split up were really the sound of pubescent girls opening up to the possibility of decent music. Necessary growing pains, like getting wisdom teeth or having to sit exams to carve the you-shaped niche you want to occupy in life.
So please regard these three hours of indefatigable Welsh aural invention as an arm around your shoulder. Well, 48 arms if you want me to be accurate about it.
Ben 'Soundhog' Hayes asks us to give Wiz Jones his due. A folk guitarist and singer who Ben argues deserves equal recognition to his better-known contemporaries - Bert Jansch, Martin Carthy and John Renbourn et al.
I preview this coming August's Green Man Festival.
I treat you to an all (crackly... very crackly) vinyl Northern Soul mix, for reasons outlined in great detail in my last blog post.
And there are debut plays for Jack Eagle, Owen Chamberlain (to all intents and purposes a debut play), The Reinvention and Fur.
Throw music into my seal-like maw via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
