Low pressure brought plenty of rain and strong to gale force winds last night. A gust of 65mph was recorded at Mumbles Head in Swansea while 20 to 30mm of rain fell overnight with flooding in parts of mid Wales including the Dyfi Valley. There was also a landslide at Cwm Ystwyth.

At the time of writing, there are five flood warnings in force on the River Severn in Powys and five other flood alerts. There was also a little snow on higher ground in north Wales with Bwlchgwyn near Wrexham waking up to a light covering of snow this morning.

The weather has improved today with some sunshine, a few showers and lighter winds. Tonight a few more showers will spread across the country; these will be heavy in places and even wintry with a little snow on higher ground. Other places will show dry, clear weather tonight with a few mist and fog patches forming with some frost and a warning of icy patches. See the Met Office weather warnings .
Tomorrow will bring a lot of dry, bright weather and some sunshine with just one or two showers here and there. Top temperatures will reach 4 to 7° Celsius with a light to moderate west to north-westerly breeze.
Tomorrow evening will start dry although a few showers are expected in the south. Overnight showers and rain will become more widespread. Temperatures will fall close to freezing in the evening but then recover overnight with increasing cloud and the wind will pick-up as well.
Sunday will be a cloudy, breezy/windy day with outbreaks of rain although some dry weather is likely in parts of the north and east for a time.
