X-Ray tackles cold callers

It's our job on X-Ray to expose people who are only too willing to rip you off. But there was something particularly nasty and upsetting about the way unscrupulous people at corrupt call centres in Swansea targeted elderly and vulnerable people.

A judge at Swansea Crown court this week also thought it was 'chilling', jailing the people behind Aurora Logistics and staff who made the calls. He also praised X-Ray for highlighting the fraud. Justice for those involved, and some consolation for their victims.

Talking about cold callers, we're on to some more companies who've been hounding people - people who are just trying to make a decent living and promote their business.

I've been to meet Simon who holds dance classes around Merthyr - as you can see he put me through my paces too!

Simon gets Lucy involved in his dance class.

He ended up being chased by debt collectors for payment for community brochures that never appeared, and then was hounded by other cold callers.

It was very worrying and stressful for him and he believes it affected his business too.

Both these stories show how unpleasant some of these companies can be. So our advice if you get an unwanted cold call - just hang up.

Find out more in the next episode of X-Ray on Monday 17 February at 7.30pm on BBC One Wales.
