I’m going to be totally lost this weekend, and I’m going to need your help!
Clueless is coming to BBC Radio Wales on Saturday afternoons, starting on 28 June. In each show I’ll be unceremoniously dropped somewhere in Wales, with the challenge of following a set of clues to get me to the final destination – before the end of the show!
I don’t have a map, or a sat-nav, but I do have Caryl Parry Jones – and you.
Caryl is in the studio in Cardiff – ready to hear your suggestions for what each clue might mean and where I need to go next.

Alex Winters
The only man who knows my ultimate destination is producer Toby. You’ll hear him giving me suggestions from listeners as they help me and Caryl solve the clues too.
If we get it right, it’s off to the next location - and after three locations, there’s a final task to complete.
Get all three clues right, and complete the task before the end of the show, and we’re victorious. If we run out of time before the task is done, it’s a win for Toby.
During my CBeebies career I've done some weird and wonderful things; dancing around dressed up as various vegetables, making toys from recycled materials against the clock and dancing with Artem Chigvintsev on the set of Strictly Come Dancing to name a few.But this could be my biggest challenge yet.
As far as I know, the clue writer’s not bribe-able. The driver knows where we’re supposed to be going - obeying the speed limit and the Highway Code of course - but he’s only allowed to take me where he’s directed by me and Caryl. Now there’s a woman who knows her way around Wales. But is she any good at solving cryptic clues? I guess this is where we find out. I suspect we are going to need your help!
I have no idea where we’re going - but the team tell me they’ve been out and about across the nation to find exciting events, interesting characters and the kind of locations that will bring Saturday afternoons throughout the summer to life.
Clueless is a first for BBC Radio Wales but a number of BBC local radio stations in England have been doing some similar formats in the last few years. From Treasure Quest in Norfolk, to Manhunt in Manchester - even two other Cluelesses in Leicester and Sheffield. Our Clueless has the whole of Wales to go at - but being in a car, not a helicopter; we’ll probably be sticking to one area each week.
If you’re near a radio on Saturday afternoon, do listen out.
What you know about where you live could be the difference between us getting
there in time - or losing the game in our first week!
Listen to Clueless at 2pm Saturday afternoons on BBC Radio Wales starting 28 June.
