Well, we had a weekend of two halves! Saturday was perfect BBQ weather and Sunday was more like Autumn than Summer. But we're not done with Summer just yet and the weather should improve as the week goes on.
One thing that you’re sure to notice this week is the cooler feel to the weather. Nights will be chilly and there maybe even some ground frost (most likely across north Wales). Once we get through the showery regime Monday and Tuesday, the weather should then settle down. We can then look forward to more sunsets like this one in Rhos on Sea taken by Sandra Roberts.

Sunset by Sandra Roberts
For now we have showers or longer spells of rain on Monday with gusty winds across south Wales. We could see gusts of up to 50mph for exposed areas. It's not the best conditions for camping or in a caravan. The windy weather continues through the night with more showers to come. Conditions will improve through Tuesday as the winds gradually ease. It will remain cool with sunny spells and scattered showers.

Met Office Pressure chart for July 29
We can look forward to high pressure building from the west on Wednesday. There will still be a few showers lurking around but as the pressure rises they will tend to become more isolated. By Thursday most of us will be enjoying dry and sunny weather. It should be much brighter and feeling pleasant in the sunshine, however once the sun sets it will feel rather chilly.
There are early indications of high pressure breaking down through the weekend and becoming more unsettled again for the start of next week. Enjoy the sunshine and be sure to wrap up warm in the evening.
