Barry Farrimond and Emerald O'Hanrahan [Ed and Emma Grundy] joined us Live for a Facebook Question & Answer session on Friday 22 May after the wedding episode.
They gave us some wonderful insights into the recording of the wedding episode and their perceptions of the characters.
Here are five top wedding-based facts that we gleaned from the Q&A:
1. To record the wedding scenes, Emerald wore a swishy net underskirt, previously worn by Annabelle Dowler as Kirsty. Glad this wedding had a happier outcome...
2. Emerald and Barry exchanged real wedding rings, one of which was borrowed from the Director [Editor Sean O'Connor].
3. They both cried when they read the scripts and Emerald cried in studio during the dress-fitting, the hen night and the wedding episode, hugging the Director straight after.
4. Barry started acting in an attempt to deal with a speech impediment.
5. Both Barry and Emerald feel that Ed shouldn't be given a break. The Grundys are underdogs and that's what makes them fun to play...
