Adventures in Bloggerland

Saturday afternoon and while the folks in Austin revive themselves with today’s serving of tex-mex its time to have a look at which bands have been getting our friends in the blogosphere excited at this year’s SXSW.
We’ll kick off with Gorilla vs Bear who pick out Aussie’s Cut Copy, power pop duo No Age and the Clipse & Re-up Gang, while they also give a mention to Thursday’s Lou Reed tribute (more of that later) and the lo-fi pop of Karl Bleu.
The Music Slut have also been a busy bunch. Wednesday for them consisted of visits to see Portland grunge act Yacht, We Barbarians and Sweden's The Shout Out Louds, while yesterday they went a for a bit of twee with Los Campesinos! before stopping off to catch Pharrell with his N.E.R.Ds and Dev Hynes with his Lightspeed Champions. They’ve also just posted last night’s update, which includes highlights from Brooklyn four-pieceThe Lisps, Laura Palmer and These United States.
Brooklyn Vegan have gone a bit old school. A visit to them will furnish you with footage from Thursday’s REM and Motorhead shows.
HearYa still have enough tips to do three weeks in Austin’s 6th street, but if you still haven’t decided what tonight will bring why not join them in the audience for Jenny Lewis’ friends The Watson Twins, a feast of British talent at the Press Here and Harp Magazine Party, featuring Laura Marling and Emmy The Great or some Canadian fun with Tokyo Police Club.
Finally over to Some Velvet Blog, where their review of the Lou Reed tribute show (yes that’s the one that included guest spots from Yo La Tengo, Thurston Moore and the man himself with Moby) now features some snazzy YouTube like video.
