A plea from Tom Robinson!
There's so much stuff happening between Wednesday and Saturday next week (1600 acts in 4 days - how does that work?) that my own blogging plan is to stick strictly to my "Introducing" remit - and focus on artists from under the radar, rather than bands being tipped as The Next Big Thing. I can then feature the usual couple of dozen in my BBC Introducing show on 6 Music on the final Saturday night. Unfortunately we won't have a live link, so I'm going to need to prerecord that show at the end of this week before we leave for Texas.
There's a searchable list of all acts appearing in Austin next week on the official site. So if you have time to glance through and recommend any interesting, non-famous acts that you spot on that list between now and Thursday afternoon, it'd be great to hear of them here...

Complain about this postIf you are looking for 'under the radar' then you should check out the Fused Magazine Showcase at The Tap Room at Six (117 W 4th St) on the 12th March.
The showcase features 5 bands coming out of Birmingham - Swampmeat / Deluka / The Big Bang / Trash Fashion (now based in London) / Copter.

Chris Bathgate, whose track Serpentine was featured on Radcilffe and Maconie earlier in the year, is playing at SXSW for 3 shows on Wed 12 Mar, and one on Sat 15 Mar.

PS I don't particularly like Mr Murdoch's MySpace, but it's a uniquely useful leveller when comparing artists.
Complain about this postthey will not be playing at sxsw but they are def worth checking out, based in bristol and pushing the boundaries of contemporary sound fusions and only 6months old they are def under the radar at the mo..but deserve to pushed into the stratosphere ... only demos available at the moment on the myspace page...bu t they allegedly have days worth of recordings already...check em out!
