Kate Silverton is the eighth celebrity to depart the dance floor

In tonight's show from the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, we sadly said goodbye to our eighth celebrity, Kate Silverton.

Kate landed in the Ballroom on Saturday's show with Pro partner Aljaž Skorjanec in a heart-shaped hot air balloon, and performed an adorable American Smooth. Their respectable score of 30 could not compete with the flurry of high scores, and they landed second last on the Leaderboard.

Kate faced the Dance-Off for the first time this series against fellow competitor Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse, who found themselves in their third Dance-Off to date.

Once both of the couples had performed again, all of the Judges chose to save Graeme and Oti, deeming their performance and technique the more "accomplished".

Kate managed to find a silver lining, telling Tess: "Not that I would have wanted to go out, but on a night like tonight in such a place, I couldn’t have asked for anything better really. I got to dance twice, went up in a hot air balloon twice, and I loved it twice!”

Aljaž expressed his pride for his partner saying: "Every week going out there and delivering incredible performances, for someone that has never performed in her life, I am so incredibly proud of you. You have taught me so much, you’re such an incredible woman, you’re an incredible mother and thank you, honestly it has been an amazing series."
