Clara and Aljaž say goodbye to Strictly
Week Six didn't go quite as planned for Clara Amfo and Aljaž Skorjanec, and now their time Ballroom has come to an end.
The pair performed a high-energy Jive to River Deep Mountain High by Tina Turner on Saturday night, but due to a few mistakes in their routine they landed at the bottom of the leaderboard with a score of 19. Once that score had been combined with the public vote, Clara and Aljaž found themselves in their first Dance Off, up against Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer.
Despite acing their routine the second time around, two of the three Judges decided to keep Jamie and Karen in the competition. When placing the deciding vote, Head Judge Shirley Ballas said: "I felt on this occasion that both couples totally lifted their game, but there was one couple they just convinced me. They had conviction from step to step, they believed in their performance and therefore I’m going to save Jamie and Karen."
This sealed Clara and Aljaž's fate, meaning they'll miss out on next week's Musicals special.

However, Clara only had positive things to say about her Strictly experience. “I’ve had the best time ever, the best time ever and got a new friend for life. I’ve loved it, it's one of the best things I’ve ever ever done, it's been a dream come true,” she said.
Aljaž also had kind words for Clara, saying: “First, I’m really gutted. All I really want to tell you is I’m so happy we got to do Lady Clamalade, the Claraston, which I’ve never done before in my life, the Clarasambafo! You are a dream to be around, you’re a beautiful girl inside out, I hope that people at home got to see that. This series has been so special and it's only because of you, thank you so much. I’m going to miss dancing with you.”
We'll never forget the joy Team Alfo brought to the Ballroom! You can catch this couple one last time on tomorrow's It Takes Two on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
