Lee Ryan becomes the second star to leave Strictly 2018

Movie Week was full of marvel and magic, but it didn't play out like a happy Hollywood tale for everyone. Unfortunately Lee Ryan and his partner Nadiya Bychkova had to wave goodbye to the Ballroom, making them the second couple to leave the competition.

The pair treated us to a Back To The Future themed Cha Cha Cha on Saturday night, which didn't impress all the Judges. They landed bottom of the leaderboard with just 19 points, seven points down from their Week Two Jive to Elvis' Blue Suede Shoes.

Following the public vote, Lee and Nadiya's fate was sealed and they found themselves in the dance-off for a second week running - this time, against Charles Venn and Karen Clifton. Once both pairs had performed their film-themed routines again, three of the Judges voted to save Charles, with Bruno Tonioli saying: “They were both very, very good, I have to say that. Very hard, but I have to pick Charles and Karen.”

Despite a majority vote, Head Judge Shirley said she disagreed and would've saved Lee and Nadiya.

It was an emotional departure for Lee, who told Tess: “I’ve had a really lovely time, even though it’s been short it seems like I’ve been here a long time, because it’s been so intense. It’s been amazing."

Pro dancer Nadiya also had some words of encouragement for Lee, adding: “Just stay the way you are, because you’re such an amazing person and I love you so much.”

While they won't be moving forward in the competition, you can catch up with Lee and Nadiya on Monday night's It Takes Two, 6.30pm on BBC Two.
