Danny John-Jules bows out of Strictly just before Blackpool
It's the week no one wants to go home, but unfortunately Danny John-Jules' Blackpool dreams have been cut short as he becomes the seventh celebrity to leave Strictly 2018.
The actor and his Pro partner Amy Dowden paid tribute to Danny's Dominican roots with a fun-feel Samba on Saturday night, but it didn't fully impress the Judges, placing them bottom of the leaderboard for a second week running.
Once the public vote had been counted, Danny and Amy unfortunately landed in the Dance-Off for the first time, facing Graeme Swann and Oti Mabuse in their second bottom two experience. Both pairs took to the dancefloor once more, and despite Judge Craig Revel Horwood opting to save Danny, the three remaining Judges voted in Graeme's favour.
When making the final decision, Head Judge Shirley said: “Both couples were really wonderful. I think they both put their best step forward, but with a more flawless performance, more energy packed, with more excitement, I’m going to go with Graeme and Oti.”
This sent Danny and Amy home after an incredible eight weeks in the competition.

When speaking to Tess about his time on the show, Danny said: “It’s been a great experience and I’m just so unhappy I didn’t get Amy to where she needed to be. And I just think that as I said before, everything I have done on this show is because of Amy. It was her training, her choreography that got me here."
Amy also shared her appreciation, saying: “Do you know, Danny told me day one that he has been a frustrated song and dance man. And I just think it’s lovely that the nation has been able to see your talent and to see you back out there performing again, so thank you for delivering such amazing performances week in, week out."
That's not the end of Team Damy though - they'll be on the It Takes Two sofa with Zoe Ball tomorrow at 6.30pm on BBC Two!
