Strictly Leader Board: Blackpool
Wow! Our eight remaining Strictly stars lit up the Blackpool Ballroom with an array of glittering performances tonight. From a spicy Salsa, to a powerful Paso and an oh so smooth American Smooth, Blackpool had more action than you can shake a stick of rock at!
Georgia and Giovanni are sitting at the top of the Leader Board for the second week in a row with a score of 38 after dancing a stunning American Smooth. Bruno exclaimed he has been “blown away” in Blackpool… and not just by the seaside wind! Darcey was full of praise and added: “you are gliding through this competition… you are going to go far!”
Close behind Team GG are two couples: Anita and Gleb and Kellie and Kevin with a score of 37, who both also scored their first tens of the series this evening. Anita wowed with a powerful Paso, which Craig called “magnificent” and awarded a score of nine. Kellie and Kevin closed the show with a terrific Quickstep, which Bruno described as “another outstanding performance in a night of dancing delight.”
Jay and Aliona’s sizzling Salsa also went down a storm in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom earning an impressive score of 36, with Len saying: “I’ve been waiting since week three’s Jive to see something as good as that and you’ve just shown it to me!”
With a standard of dancing so high, even the couples in the bottom half of the Leader Board pulled some amazing performances out the bag. Jamelia and Tristan are in penultimate place after earning 31 points for their Quickstep, for which she received praise from the judges. Darcey was particularly impressed by the fact she made no mistakes.
Peter and Janette are at the bottom of the Leader Board for the first time in the series after scoring 29 for their swinging 60s themed Jive. Although Peter did receive some positive comments, Len said it wasn’t his “finest dance.”
