Ed Balls revealed as the first Strictly celeb of 2016!

Give a glittery welcome to Former MP Ed Balls, having emerged from the ‘Shadows’ as the first celebrity of 2016 to be announced. Ed made the big reveal during an appearance on BBC Radio Two’s The Chris Evans Breakfast Show this morning.

Following in the footsteps of Edwina Currie, Ann Widdecombe and Vince Cable. Ed is the fourth politician to attempt to govern the Strictly dance floor.

Having run the London Marathon three times since 2011 and being no stranger to the dance floor at Labour Party conferences, Ed is ready to swap his suit for sequins and make the Strictly ballroom the Ed Ball-room.

Ed's announcement was made on Chris Evans Radio 2 Breakfast Show - where he said he was "scared to death" but he and wife Yvette were looking forward to it. "Our family have been massive fans of Strictly for years. I've taken the view that if you have a midlife crisis, make sure you plan it well and enjoy every minute."

With a new policy of Strictly spray-tans and shimmies, Ed will be campaigning for your vote to be elected Strictly 2016 champion. Take a look at Ed’s profile to find out more about the Former MP.
