It's game over for Graeme Swann

With just one week to go until the Strictly 2018 Quarter Final, no one wants to lose their place in the competition. However, that fate befell cricketer Graeme Swann tonight as he said goodbye to the Ballroom for good.

Graeme had a great time performing on the show week in, week out with Pro partner Oti Mabuse, treating us to a nautical-themed Quickstep on Saturday night. However, his technique didn't make waves with the Judges, landing him second from last on the leaderboard. The couple also took part in the Lindy Hop-a-thon, but only picked up two extra points from the panel.

Once their score had been combined with the public vote, Graeme and Oti found themselves in the Dance-Off for the fourth time this series, facing Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev.

The latter pair quickly emerged as the front-runners during the Judges' vote, with Craig Revel Horwood saying: “For me it’s a no brainer and the couple I’d like to save - Ashley and Pasha.”

Darcey and Bruno also voted in Ashley's favour sending Graeme straight home, with Head Judge Shirley adding she would've come to the same decision.

Despite being voted out, funnyman Graeme had plenty of words of admiration to share, telling Tess: “I’d have voted for Ashley and Pasha as well! I can’t quite believe I was put against them to be honest. But this whole journey - I’ve got to say, before I say gloating things about Oti that I’m obviously going to - this show and what you’ve got is something special, and thank you for letting me be a part of it.”

"This woman Oti is - this girl sorry, she’s not old enough to be a woman obviously - has just made me fall in love with this whole dance nonsense that I thought it was before. I absolutely adore you for that, I’ll never forget everything you taught and shouted at me for weeks and weeks!"

Oti had some equally lovely thoughts to share with Graeme, saying: “I’ve had the best season of my entire career on Strictly. I have never laughed so much, I’ve never been so angry so much. I have the best friend in you. We might not have been the best dancers but you have the spirit of Strictly."

We'll definitely miss this duo! See them together on final time on tomorrow night's It Takes Two, 6.30pm on BBC Two.
