Week 3 - Strictly Live Show - 15 October

Due to the misconception that polar bears would not want to watch football and dancing, both appear to have been scheduled on TV to overlap, leaving Dfer with a dilemma. Until society drops it's misguided stereotypical assumptions this will occasionally happen. Bearsonally there is no need for the footie to be started at 5.30pm and al should kick off on Saturday at 3pm.



Anyways Dfer will be watching the match and will not be here for SCD. Everyone enjoy the show and C'mon Rory, Robbie and Holly.

Hello Dfer @1 My little nephew Theo likes going to dance and football. I've always wondered if anyone else likes both..... At last I've met someone or, in this case, somebear;):)

Off to do the cleaning up so I can flop and watch the show with my 2 best buds Ben and Jerry.

And the football/dancing clash could be a cause of family friction - I know lots of people have more than one TV these days, but there's always a 'best' set, isn't there? Anyway, hope the football is worth the sacrifice, Dfer.



Looking forward to: Holly, Harry, Robbie, Jason, Alex, Chelseeee and Russell. Hoping Rory and Audley will surprise me. I have a cushion ready to hide behind for Lulu and Nancy.

Evening all. Enjoy the footie Dfer. I am a girl and love Strictly and Football. It seems that programmers either have good programs on at the same time or they all show rubbish. Don't know which is worse. I'm sticking with Strictly though and hoping the Broadway theme works out well for the competitors.

Hilarious that Alesha Dixon struggles to put together simple sentences. Surely her last series. No-one in the world thinks she's of any worth as a judge. I beg of you BBC.

Please can someone stop the audience booing,everytime a constructive critisism is made-it might help the drama but it is boring and means that the judges aren't always heard.

Being in Len's camp, I liked that as no messing around, just dancing, yay!

Wish Bruce would just retire - he's got his knighthood now and I wish he would just go - gets more embarrassing every week

Dan looks so stiff. I just don't feel his musicality. The dance just didn't have any flow.

Relax your shoulders and stretch out your neck Dan! A bit shuffley in places but he moved across the floor ok. A bit too much faff in the routine but I guess that was because he was experiencing motion sickness in practice.

Well said, Craig. Dan has the lumpen personality of Rav Wilding, the conceit of Garry Rhodes and about the same dancing ability. Awful.

I vote for Baggpuss as well!!!!



Bits of Dans dance werent bad, just needs to develop consistency

Opening sequence with professionals should have been in darkness they would have stood out and made more impact visually

jason donovan's very supportive of everyone when they come up the stairs....is that because he knows they're no threat to him in the competition..?

Didn't set me on fire - poor Dan. I do like him but think that he is too tall although Ian Waite was tall and it didn't stop him.

I fear Alesha is a fixture. For some reason the BBC is totally behind her and ignores audience opinion.

A disappointing start. Judges totally inconsistent as always. Holly disappointing. Zero chemistry. Dan a trier, but very wooden.

Needs more bounce - it's like her knees absorb all her energy and stops it from getting to her feet. A good effort though.

It was good fun but needs to push thought the floor more.

That was terrible. Choreography far too difficult for Anita and why have wardrobe taken against her? Second horrific costume in a row.

Enjoyed that - easily the best so far. Simple is sometimes best!

So far, this show is fulfilling all my fears. The Broadway theme is adding NOTHING!!!! Please BBC stop this silliness! If I want to watch West End show dances I'll go to the West End and see a show. I don't want to watch it as part of Strictly - I want to watch competition ballroom dancing.



So far:



Holly's tango - remarkable mainly for the lack of tango steps it contained because of having to accommodate a ridiculous Chicago theme. (I've seen that show in the West End, and believe me, there's no tango in it!)

Anita's jive - compare this Austin Healy's jive to the same music a few series ago. No Comparison at all, Healy was 100% better!

And Anita is one of the more musical contestants this year, let down by having to fit to a silly theme.

Dan - very wooden, dance spoilt by constant breaks of hold. The Viennese Waltz is lovely because of the very relentlessness of uit, which you can only get when the dancers remain in hold.

Alex's waltz - they looked as though they were on mogadon. Again, look at Aleesha's waltz to the same music with Matthew Cutler. No comparison.

Is Strictly played out? I hope not, but fear so.

Watching Strictly with my Son who has Autism and he is so obsessed with the show, he tells me he loved Anita's jive, she's his favourite

Really enjoyed that performance. Arm in an odd position but well done Rory.

A proper broadway song.... perhaps Rory's best dance yet.

Erin's dress very quickstep indeed. Not an easy dance and I think Rory gave it a good stab. Shoulders a bit tense but never mind.

I agree with you twinklestar18 Im sure they never used to give such high marks in the earlier series of strictly - so early on in the show
