Nancy and Anton leave Strictly Come Dancing

I think the right decision was made although Nancy & Anton did bring the entertainment factor. And when judging Harry or Jason, Alesha doesn't seem to care what the choreo is as 'they didn't do the choreo' but when asked why she didn't give Holly a 10, she said 'the lift was too long' so she's complaining about Artem's choreo, it just dien't make sense.

Just as well... Nancy wasn't as much fun as Widdy!

Does Len have a problem with Aliona? For the past few weeks he seems determined to look under rocks for criticisms whilst letting other dancers get away with what he calls 'little mistakes'. How he scored Harry & Aliona a 7 for Saturday's dance is beyond me, and I feel the same about last week. Len, you are the head judge and with great power comes great responsibility, please be as balanced as required.

Well done to Nancy for trying. SCD seems to be about belittling contestants now so extra well done to Nancy for not belting Bruno and that idiot Dixon squarely in the chops - although I would have paid good money to have seen it. Nancy wasn't perfect and was sure to go anyway so tonight's result may have been a relief for her. At least she gave it a go.

Yep, couldn't agree more 2 Red Shoes. I wonder how Alesha would have responded if she'd had comments like that when she was merely a contestant. I bet she wouldn't have had a fraction of the dignity Nancy had. The whole thing made Strictly look cruel and tawdry, and Nancy came out of it looking far better than Ms Dixon et al.

Re: Nick - I thought that, he kept having little digs at her when judging the other couples. Ok, there wasn't a huge amount of tango, but Holly and Artem's American Smooth didn't have the 60% (or is it 40?) in hold, and he was very kind about their performance. Same during, I think, Anita and Robin's critiques. Maybe he still hasn't gotten over her slight on ITT a few weeks back. Or possibly he's just getting a little miffed that they keep telling her to up the content to help Harry and she isn't listening.



Thank goodness Nancy and Anton are gone! I'm sorry but they were cringeworthy!



Ooh, and P.S, well done Chelsee and Pasha, their tango was amazing, and way to keep dancing through a costume malfunction - nicely done Chelsee. Wanted to reach through the tv and give her a hug though, bless her!

So glad to see Nancy gone, I don't believe that she danced at all during the competition. She seemed to have no control over her body she was floppy on top and when speaking seemed to be either drunk or high. Anton dragged her around in the same fashion he did with Anne Widdicombe but without the humourous outcome - the right decision has been made at last just a shame that Rory Bremner was a casualty of the Anton fan club

I think the right decision was made, I feel for Nancy and found her very entertaining but she wasn't improving as much as the other celebrities and I think it was her week to go. Worried for Robbie when he wasn't called till the end.



I really enjoyed the two shows and loved the pro dance at the start tonight, brilliantly done.

I agree that Nancy deserved to go. She was the worst dancer by a country mile. I was actually glad that the dancers that departed before her were in or around the bottom 2 on the judges leaderboard so there was no significant damage to her staying in to this point.

I couldn't agree more with 2_Red_Shoes and wiggleitjiggleit...I thought the way Nancy was treated was bad and not what I would have expected from Strictly ay all...Im a big Strictly fan but the comments made by the judges and laughter from the audience was shameful. Well done to Nancy for showing the maturity and grace in handling it...and Anton didn't help her, it's time he grew up and stopped the 'comedy' routine which isn't funny just irritating.

Nancy wasn't the best dancer BUT she certainly showed Alesha Dixon how to behave with dignity. Alesha's spiteful comments on Saturday coupled with her eye-rolling and shoulder shrugs on Sunday were distasteful! Well done, Nancy!

Felt a bit sorry for Nancy she was marked very severely and had to put up with some nasty comments, in particular from Alesha. Though as I said earlier that seeing Nancy and Anton voted off was like seeing a lame horse being shot and put out of its misery, maybe I'm not one to talk. Wouldn't have minded if Audley had gone instead, he's nice enough but a little boring.



Well, that's 4 of my favourite professionals out now (Vincent, Katya, Erin and Anton) now only Flavia remains. Not a good year for me.

Hi Nick. I don't think Len has a big problem with Aliona although I wouldn't blame him or any of the other judges if they did after she openly said the other day on ITT that she doesn't listen to the judges comments.



I felt that Len adequately explained his issue on last nights show though because as he said unlike the other 3 judges he is from the world of ballroom dancing and ballroom dancing is done predominantly in hold so when he sees a ballroom routine (although he isn't against a little bit of story telling) he wants to see a ballroom routine do exactly as it says on the tin - being in hold.



Last week he took issue with the long drawn out conclusion Aliona inserted in last weeks waltz although he particularly highlighted the bit on the steps. I venture to say though that had Aliona put a little more waltz content and made that bit on the steps the very end of the routine that Len wouldn't have had an issue with it and would have given it the 10 he said he was thinking about awarding them at the start and as Craig and Bruno both had issues with the shadowing that took place once they came back off the steps for the actual conclusion they would have added an extra mark each to his waltz score (if Aliona had done what I suggested above) which would have given them 39 out of 40.



As for this weeks tango Len was entitled to have another go because despite the drama and passion Aliona inserted even less tango choreography than she did in the waltz - 8 bars I think Len said - and this led to Craig also commenting about the lack of time in hold and tango content so Len was justified from that point of view.



My only criticism of Len on this issue as I've said a couple of times on different blogs is that his consistency deserted him this weekend. He has got his ballroom expectations (as I have explained above) and so he criticised Harry yet Jasons quickstep had even less ballroom content and time in hold than Harry yet neither Len or Craig criticised Jason or Kristina over this issue

His consistency deserted him the week he declared 'rules are made to be broken'.

Alesha seemed to hate Nancy right from the beginning and her comments have been spiteful and ignorant. Team Dell'olibeke were never going to go far - no natural dancing ability - but the judges have all been heavy handed with her. Well done Nancy anyway - I'll need to close down my 'Nancy to win' facebook group now !!!

I suppose it was inevitable that Nancy & Anton would go this week. What was more painful to watch than their dancing was the judges' comments. As I said earlier, only Bruno seem to make more of an effort with being constructive. The others, especially Alesha were quite unprofessional. Well done to Nancy for putting up the catty comments & the laughter from the audience as well as giving it a go. Ditto to Anton for his choreography & music choices.

It was their time to go. They have been entertaining but Nancy's dancing was not improving. Unfortunately Aleesha has not improved either - she is no asset on the judging panel.

Gutted is the only word to describe ANTON leaving thats 2 of my favourite professionals gone - ANTON AND ERIN. However can't say I am sorry to see the back of Nancy she was as wooden as the coffin!!!!!

Nancy wasn't good, but she had dignity. Aleesha is still absolutely useless, how she manages to hang on to the job I don't know. In so many comments she irritatingly uses 'I commend you', 'you should be proud'. What utterly stupid statements. When will she go?

I think the judges comments about Nancy have been quite cutting and spiteful, it seems that that is their role now to come up with something funny or nasty, no contestant deserves to be made a fool of.

Nancy left with dignity now lets hope Alesha can do the same

They should have gone last week. Rory Bremner didn't deserve to go - the programme is after all "Strictly Come Dancing" not "Strictly Come Entertainment". So, although it's sad for any contestant to have to leave, it should be the poorest dancer that goes and Nancy & Anton have been the poorest dancers for the last 2 or 3 weeks.

I don't not believe Nancy was in the same league as Anne Widdecoombe or John Sergeant (although I believe both did at least start with aspirations to learn dance). The poorer dancers are not to blame though when voted for by the viewers. Despite this being evidently clear the celebs themselves do seem to still get abuse from certain so called fans. I believe people have a right to say how awful the dancing is or state how they do not like those who vote purely to see terrible dancing, but really not hate the contestants (err sorry I meant cast). I for one have been happy to watch how Nancy battled with something which was not natural for her to do, and am also glad that in the main voters eventually put through the better dancers rather than pure favourites, but this is a bearsonal view only. I genuinely commiserate with all those who have been voted off for it seems all of them wanted to do more (apart from John who had got himself double booked).

I don't like when any contestant leaves, but based on her performances I would say that Nancy's time had come.

Nancy knew what she was letting herself in for as do all the contestants(or is that contenders?).Don't get me wrong I love watching the show and some amazing dancing talent has emerged from celebrities who have shown that they have more than one fiddle to their bow. Nancy speaks several languages, she is a lawyer,blah,blah blah, but she totally lacks humour, personality and now we all know her for the Diva she is. The Diva with two left feet. At least Alesha can dance and laugh at herself! When is your Dolmio day Nancy?

Alesha is just rude. Her comments to Nancy were incredibly disrespectful and showed her lack of class. Nancy is worth ten of Alesha. She has absolutely zero credibility and her ambiguous feedback just exposes her total lack of knowledge. Get her off the show!

Although I really like the other judges I do think they are inconsistent. They are definitely influenced by factors other than the dancing. Seems, for example, that they are particularly kind to Anita - is it because she is a BBC icon or is it because her partner Brian May is in the audience and the producers like having him there?

Funny also how Holly received such praise, and the most expensive costume of the evening, whilst her friend Beatrice was in the audience supporting her.

Also, they tiptoe very carefully around BBC's One show host Alex. Her solo bit was a mess this week but no-one had a bad word to say.

Still like the show but wont be ringing in to vote when there are factors other than talent in the mix.

Depends on your point of view. If you see it as an entertainment show then the likes of Nancy and Russell are right up there. If you're looking for the dancer with the most talent------need I say more? Seems to me that now that the judges no longer have a say in a final dance off, it's becoming just an entertainment show. Shame! I certainly enjoyed it more when talent stood a fighting chance over maudlin nostalgia.

Robbie Savage (not to be confused with Lily Savage, although that wouldn't be hard to do, all that gorgeous blonde hair) needs to be shown the red card. Poser? Yes! Dancer? No!

The series will become uninteresting now.

Justice at last, Nancy voted off! I agree lincolnduncan that Robbie should be next. That lewd move on Saturday night was just gross - and I am no prude.

As a SCD fan and BBC viewer I can not believe some comments made by judges - "you both should have stayed in that coffin"!!!! And this is a family show!! OK, you don't need glasses to see that Nancy was not a dancer and it was her time to go but, sorry, what kind of a person will say things like that?? I am absolutely disgusted. Shame on you....

I am a newcomer to Strictly (been living in US) So don't know a whole lot about past programmes but very sad to see Rory go, feel it should have been Nancy last week. Very hard to understand her and did not enjoy her performance as much as Ann's in last series!

Was horrified at Robbie's performance, this IS a family show, and to repeat that move three times was over the top!

Those 10s of Alesha's are a bit mystifying....... And agree the remarks don't always match the marks!

Grass is once again green, flowers can once again bloom and the air is once again fresh now that Nancy is gone.



She was a laugh but just as those who can dance and do so well seem to conflict with those who are appealed by the entertainment; the more humorous, more lighthearted and less serious side, those who do entertain with with wit and comedy conflict with those who are traditionalists and like to see the developing celebs grow in performances in the show. The show isn't just about those who like to see mirth. Those of us who want to see what we like to see too. The celebs take the competition seriously and learn and grow.



Re: Lincolnduncan & Foxtrot Charlie in posts 35 & 38. Robbie can hardly be accused of performing the routine he did when asking a male pro and/or celeb to not to move his torso rhythmically and sinuously in a Latin is like asking Arsene Wenger if he saw Robin van Persie go in with that two footed tackle; pointless. Moving his body sinuously and rhythmically in a Latin is the whole point and sole role of the male.

Nancy was undeniably the most awkward dancer though her routine was more adventurous than some. Sometimes however the comments for specific dancers are notable for either a fawning attitude (Pamela Stephenson or currently Lulu) or their sheer nastiness. The treatment of Nancy left an unpleasant taste in my mouth, particularly from Alesha. Her sneers and personal criticism were uncalled for. Craig has the intelligence to get away with it most of the time. Alesha is best uttering platitudes or giving an undeniable good looking and talented dancer two premature tens.

I think it was definitely the right couple who left last night, from week 1 they shave been the weakest and to be fair to Nancy I don`t think Anton`s choreography was good, I felt that he has choreographed comic routines and not dance routines, I feel that this should be his last series as I don`t think he takes it seriously, I would prefer to see Ian Waite back or matthew cutler (they should not have been let go)



I felt that the judges comments and i agree with most posters especially Aleshas comments to Nancy were un called for, the judges should comment on the dancing not be rude and personal. Nancy left with dignity and Alesha should take a long hard look at herself in the mirror and realise she isn`t "all that" !



I also didn`t get the dishing out of 10`s this week, too early in the series and also there were mistakes!!!!



robbie Savage is my favourite, I know he isn`t going to win and I feel with the choreography that Ola gave him last week does`t help his cause, all that thrusting not totally called for, but I see where she was getting the idea from as the big man MJ himself thrusted, but she didn`t have to put as many thrusts in;



Roll on next week, I am going to be very interested how it pans out from here as i feel that the bottom two could and up being a shocker, now the weakest of the weak has left.

Moving ones body sinously and rhythmically does not mean thrusting your genitals in the face of a bloke who is also gay. I think we all got the drift. If that is the only way one can move ones body sinuously and rhythmically, then Ola lacks imagination. Perhaps she should watch Rachel and Vincent's rumba which was sensuality on legs but never vulgar

What a shame, Anton and Nancy were so entertaining, it would have been nice to have seen them a bit more. Nancy cant dance for toffee but she is a ladie. Who is Alesha going to bitch at now??

Nancy was not the best dancer, but what she lacked in dance talent she made up with warmth and wit! I loved her and Anton, I would have preferred Audley to go cos he was boring! But it was her time to leave. I also agree with the comments about Alesha, I thought her comments were rude towards Nancy who always behaves with grace and dignity! I enjoyed Chelsee's tango and really felt for her when she thought she had come out of her dress (bless her). I'm going to start voting for Alex and James, thought she danced beautifully :)

At last !!! Nothing personal, but if Russell goes next week perhaps we can have a serious competition.

Now that there are fewer couples, could we extend the length of each couple's routine, so they actually dance rather than faf about with intro & ending with nothing in the middle. The only person I felt actually did a 'dance' routine this week was Jason.

Alesha said something funny about Nancy and Anton and to be frank Nancy deserved every word. She has shown herself to be shallow and self obsessed, no sense of humour and absolutely no dancing talent. We all cheered in our house when she finally got voted off. Great shame that it was after Rory and Erin who were so much better, Rory really cared about being on Strictly whereas it was obvious Nancy thought she was doing the programme a favour!



As for being beautiful or glamourous.....handsome is as handsome does. Good riddance Nancy; better luck next year Anton you deserve a decent and collaborative partner.

Quite agree with comment 14. Len is a good ballroom judge - please could we have another couple like him instead of the current two, who have absolutely no ballroom history between them. ( & it shows!) At least Alisha has been in the competition.After all the negative comments about the costumes & raunchy routines not being suitable for a family show, Robbie comes out with a routine like that !! None of the men did moves like that when I was competing, they would have been told to leave the floor !!

If the BBC want to turn it into an dance routine competition, with the emphasis on entertainment, please stop refering to the dances as a waltz, foxtrot, tango etc.

well what a halloween s.c.d this weekend,

I thought everyone did very well at their dances except Nany and Anton and Audley and Natalie and they were in the bottom 2, I knew that Nancy and Anton would go, 3rd time in bottom 2 and they have been bottom of the leader board from the very start, so realy no improvement with them, I just wish Anton had someone who could dance as a partner, the last couple of years hes had partners that cannot realy dance at all, what a show though, I realy liked Holly and Artems dance, the music realy did work with their dance, realy spooky I thought, the music I mean, what an excellent show, the correct people got voted off this week, now the competition can realy begin with the people who can dance, I know Russel has had problems with hes dances, but hes a tryer at least, much better than Nancy, I wish him all the best for hes knee operation and hope he can rehearse ok this week for Saturdays s.c.d, well done everyone, looking farward to watching i.t.t this week with zoe and catching up with the training for this Saturdays s.c.d, take care everyone, have a good week

Oh dear the show is turning into the X Factor with rude judges and too may gimmicks!

This show ran for years in the original format which everyone seemed to like, although now the BBC seem to after ratings and nothing else.

For Len to say that this is best lineup of all the series' is nonsense, think back folks!

I agree that Alesha is getting above herself. She was great as a dancer but I'm afraid she does not know enough to give serious comment. As I've said before, there is only one judge who gives constructive comment and that is Craig even though he sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.

Personally I think the front runners are Harry and Chelsee with the possible addition of Jason.

I love Strictly but wonder how dim the BBC think their audience is? Whilst trying to convince us they film the results show on a Sunday they leave the same people behind the judges and presenters all the time! Is it just luck that these people have tickets for both nights? If they did you'd think they wear different outfits!!! Come on people, give it a little forethought and if you're trying to convince us it's on a different night please at least move people about in the audience!!!!!

I just want to ask one question of the Judges. Watching Jason on Saturday night I noticed that his top line (frame) was very 'droopy', his elbows were down a lot of the time and yet none of the judges pointed this out. Aleisha even gave him a 10?? Surely the judges have to be fair and criticise all contestants no matter how much of a 'favourite' they are, anyone else would have been brought to book on their frame!

The best result of the series. She should have gone on the first show. She was terrible on the dance floor, and arrogant off it.

There are a few people on here who are singling out Alesha for her comments to Nancy and other criticisms. I don't have any issue with people criticisng Alesha as long as it is fair criticism.



You are expecting Alesha to be fair and offer constructive criticism but in this particular aspect people aren't giving to Alesga what you are expecting her to give out. The point that her criticism of Nancy was harsh is fair enough but as one other person said she wasn't the only one. Bruno was the only one who tried to offer constructive criticism to her and Aleshas comments to Nancy basically are the same as quite a few of the comments Craig makes to the celebs. So if you are going to criticise her for her comments you have got to criticise Craig also when he has a go at the couples.



I think that Aleshas problem when it comes to criticisng celebs when she really doesn't like the routine is that she is too nice and should therefore stick to offering constructive criticism because when she does try to have a right go she goes overboard and starts nicking phrases from the other judges. We saw that with her criticism of Nancy over the weekend and Iremember a couple of series ago she nicked one of Lens phrases in telling Laila Rouass "You are getting on my wick"

I was really sad to see Nancy ridiculed again this weekend on SCD. I have enjoyed watching the last 7 series and have never witnessed such a lack of respect and unkindness. Yes we have laughed with other contestants such as Anne Widdicombe and John Sargent but I really feel sorry that it seems that the show has laughed at Nancy. Yes it was right that she went last night but I feel that Alesha's comments were cruel and unjustied. I also think her marking is totally ridiculous giving out 10's at this stage in the competition! Where does she think she's going to go from here. In the past I have liked and supported Alesha but I think this weekend she showed a different side which was not nice. Nancy was not a dancer but she did bring entertainment to the show, I hope she did enjoy the experience and was not too bothered by the unkind, unsupporting criticism she received this weekend :(

Completely agree with nuttynora - thank goodness that Nancy Dell Olio has finally gone and we can get back to the wonderful show that is Strictly as it no longer has to be The Nancy Show. Regarding the comments about Len and Aliona, I'm afraid I agree with him - she lets her partners down with her weak choreography - she did it with Matt last year as well, anyone remember that awful New York American Smooth??? I think she should be replaced next year or at least given the worst celebrity male.

Aww, it was fun while it lasted, and Anton and Nancy had such a fab partnership. And I DO think she was getting better :-) You shall be missed Nancy and Anton!

Good Nancy gone. Now no more gimmicks no more show dances pretending to be american smooths. and while Len is away no non judges. lets have Karen Hardy judging I know lets give Alesha scores out of ten, 3 ,3 ,3 .

If only Alesha Dixon left and SCD got a serious judge on board (the pretty and knowledgeable Karen Hardy for example) the show would improve. Dixon must have had elocution or English lessons because at least she no longer appears to say 'you was good' and the coarse screeching laugh has gone - but what she does say is drivel or a repetition of what the other judges have said. The show is good entertainment but it needs the credibility of a good judge.

It's a shame the public seem to want to keep naff dancers on the 'dancing' competition rather than save the good ones. I prefer to see good dancing rather than someone flinging themselves around making the dance floor look untidy. I wanted to see more of Rory and Erin :-(

I am sure Nancy can do without SCD. The judges insults about her dancing went too far. Alesha's comments were shocking to say the least as she was a contestant herself not too long ago. Her contribution as a judge is light weight to say the least and that is being kind. Put us out of our misery and bring a judge in who has a track record of understanding ball room dancing. They just did'nt like Nancy at all. What can you say about Du beck the clown prince just playing it for laughs.

Thank goodness Nancy has gone! She was absolutely not entertaining nor could she dance - though judges can say these things with tact. (SHOULD be able to ....)



I thought Holly's dance was lovely this week, Harry and Jason continue to be great and Chelsee didn't need to be so upset - she did a good routine and seemed to suffer an imagined wardrobe malfunction - certainly (unobservant!) me didn't notice anything untoward. Not sure about Russell: he has been entertaining and shown enthusiasm but seemed to be stuck in a bit of a rut this week. Oh, and Alex had a rather fetching dress!! The rest ......I can kinda live without.

Aliona please do dome dancing and show your partners talents not your own. Learn from last year, Matt was a winner. I dont care what any one else says but 8 bars is not enough, i said it before Len did. I keep routing every week to see this boy dance. Sometimes this show seems like Strictly Amateur dramatics more than dance.

I'm glad that Nancy has gone..but that's largely because I'm always glad to see the back of Anton Du Beke, can't see the fascination with the man and I don't find him amusing in the slightest..at least we'll be spared his endless "comical," mumblings.



I quite liked Nancy, but, for me, there's no question that she was the worst dancer of the evening and thank the gods we'll be spared weeks of it a-la Anne Widdecombe, not that there's any real comparison..Widdecombe was awful in every possible sense of the word..



I found everything about Nancy from her personality to her dancing infinitely more entertaining than Anne Widdecombe ever came up with, though without her, we wouldn't have witnessed Bruno's "Dalek In Drag," rant, which, for me was the funniest judges comment I've ever heard..as spot on in it's observation as it was funny..but then, Bruno I find funny, he merely has to speak, Anton Du Beke, I don't.

Right... so I am watching the results show on catch-up, which I don't normally do if I already know the results, but I am so chuffed that we will not be subjected to any more self-satisfied, self-serving, nonsensical, vapid jibber-jabber paired with her offensive (at least sensibility-wise) dancing. And this is also, I hope, the end to her celebrity exposure so that, as a culture, we can move on without her at all. If I could have voted against her, I would of.

Just been watching the red button commentaries (love them, but too distracting on the live programme) and can't understand why I was so disappointed with the show. A lot of lovely routines. Unless it was all the irritating VTs and flannel from Bruce & Tess? Also counted bars for Harry & Aliona - I made it 12 in hold. May not be a lot more than 8, but get it right, Len!



Alegna @51 has a point; maybe the 'themed' weeks should all be essentially 'SCD freestyle' dances (make some rules up - it's your programme) - then back to the more formal competition-based theme for the others?

I just didn't "get" Nancy, and her time had definitely come, so hopefully we are now one twinkle-toed step closer to a real dance contest! Russell next - though it will break my heart - who could fail to love him??? And he is having so much fun! Still, a lot of people seem to have lost sight of what the contest is about. Why can't we have a dance contest that is entertaining AND competitive. Agree about the judges' comments being too personal and mean spirited at times. And Alesha, what's with the 10's??? Don't you see that they lose that marvellous "punch the air" factor if they are handed out readily?

I have watched 'strictly' since it started but have found this series rather disappointing. What has happened to the actual dancing. It seems as if all the dancing has all but disappeared and in it's place props, gimicks and special effects. ( Not Jason though, he really did dance this week).

LINDA#74. Oh how I agree with you. Too many props, too much mucking about with props and such, not enough dancing. I loved Strictly in it's old format.



I keep hoping that we will get back to "normal" once the "entertainers" have gone. But for some reason the likes of Russell have a following so at least one of them will be hard to remove. Robbie may have gone a bit OTT this week but at least he can dance but Russell's Teddy Bear and cupid acts made me feel slightly queazy.

My top two are Harry, Chelsee but I guess Jason will sadly still be in the running.

Practically every other comment on here calls for the sacking of Alesha Dixon, so will the BBC please listen to its viewers?.



I had no respect for her opinions from the start, but at least she stuck to the vapid, empty comments that bothered no-one. This year she seems to think she knows what she's talking about and adds arrogance to her ineptitude.



It must be so galling for the professionals to have to listen to criticism from a rank amateur, and pretend it has any relevence.

Can I say a word in favour of Alisha. She has at least taken part in the competition, which means she has done ballroom training. Craig & Bruno, from what I can gather, have no ballroom training at all. How on earth can they comment.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for getting Nancy off the show, she seemed to believe being Italian and good looking was all that was required!



I was so vert disappointed in every performance and feel so sad for Anton who always appears to be allocated a eight legged elephant to dance with!



Be kind to /anton an drake sure he gets someone who really can dance fro the next series!

I just wonder did anyone tell Nancy it's a dance competition. Each week she seemed to get worse and when she was criticisied by the judges always had a retort implying she knew better.



Once again people who were really trying to improve (Rory Bremner for one) have suffered at the hands of a plodder who should never have been included in the line up.



Now let the real competition begin and let us ENJOY Saturday nights again!!

I couldn't agree with you more it is a dance competition but we are seeing more and more time wasted wafting round the floor sitting in chairs or doing a form of pole dancing. I think Len and Craig are right when they say they want to see more than 8 bars 'in hold'. Lets see the celebs master the dances please.

Getting away from Nancy and from Alesha a bit, if that is possible, I see the Great British ignoramuses have spoken out about the raunchiness of Robbie Savage's routine inspired totally from someone who did the same thing all the time and for whom it was a trademark dance style, with nobody complaining and if anything everyone lapping it up. The hypocrisy is astounding.



What also is astounding is the fact he has got wrapped around the knuckles for dancing in a way surely integral to the male role in the Paso Doble. A Paso without the male posturing in a very forced way just isn't a Paso Doble. Asking a male dancer not to postulate in a Paso Doble is like asking the Mens Coxless 4 Team in the Olympic Rowing squad to row without oars.



Madness the public think it necessary to complain about a celeb in a dance competition pretending to flaunt himself in a pretend role when theirs graphic porn so accessible to children on the internet. That is going to damage minors more than seeing someone pretend to flaunt himself in a dance noted for a need for postulation.

Glad the “witch hunt” is over. Nancy was treated so badly and I can only see a place for that kind of cruelty and nastiness shown by the judges in Pantomime. The show is based upon Celebs who can’t dance and the public has an opportunity to vote for who we prefer to watch. I hope nobody is taking the judges comments seriously & the BBC cleans up the act pronto or makes some kind of statement regarding the theatrics and blatant discrimination, which in my opinion, appears to be going on. Also the Producer's role in all this. I wonder what kind of affect the judges behaviour has on children watching.

Well done Alegna. I am glad that someone else onhere is trying to be fair to Alesha. I do agree with those questioning the 3 10s she has awarded but I do at the same time think that at the same time I try to balance any criticism of Alesha also.

At times I just think Nancy was set up to be the one who comes round every year to be the giggle. Every year we have one partnership which was formed to offer the laughs and little else. Last year it was Ann and this year it was Nancy. What do you think?

I am really enjoying the show.

However I didn't like the comments dished out to Nancy each week, OK we all enjoy a laugh, but I felt the judges went a bit too far at times and I ended up feeling that some of the comments made were a bit humiliating. Anton threw Nancy around like a sack of potatoes and even though I knew she was not the best dancer it could have been so much better if she had had a waltz to do with Anton. All that said Strictly is the best entertainment on TV this year. Well done to Zoe too on ITT!

I agree with almost everybody on here about it being a relief to see Nancy & Anton out (surely both he & the BBC must now realise that he will never win it & just train him up ready to take over when St Bruce hangs up his one liners). I also have a major problem or 2 with Aleesha: 1) I never wanted her on the panel in the first place; just because she won it once doesn't make her any kind of expert & that is reflected in her giving a 10 to any male contestant who shows off his pecs 2) Her comments have always bordered on the uncouth (because that is exactly what she is) & unless the BBC doesn't want to lose the ground that it's made on ITV it needs to replace her with Karen Hardy and DO IT NOW. Oh and if we needed any more proof that the producers just think a bit of "eye candy" on the judging panel will keep us happy, they've got Jennifer Grey in as just an American version of Aleesha Dixon. Let's hope her & CRH have a major spat on air when she gives her fourth 10 of the night & he lets her have his opnion - both barrells.

Looking forward to some proper dancing from the celeb's that did not do any last week, after all it is "Strictly Come Dancing", just a suggestion perhaps the wardrobe department could make the dresses for the more endowed female celebs more discreet and less skimpy it is after all a family show !!! and as for Robbie enough said.

No. 81. I see your moniker is fanatic but why can't you understand that some of us feel equally strongly about our views? I accept that you find Robbie Savage's behaviour entertaining, fair enough. The view of the vast majority of posters is that it was distasteful vulgar posturing, that doesn't make us hypocrites or ignoramuses. Is loving vulgarity now a sign of learning? My point is that there is room for everybody's tastes. If I go to see Michael Jackson, (and I did) I know what to expect. If I have the family round, including young kids, I should also know what to expect from a family entertainment show that targets children. So, please, no more name calling.

magicquickluckyjim @53 - couldn't agree more with you opinion that Strictly has become about nasty judges and gimmicks. I've noticed that there is less actual dance content and more of what Len used to call "mucking about". And most of the time, it's only Craig who ever actually comments on the dancing, the others offer meaningless platitudes like "you came out and entertained us", "you really attacked it" or "you looked like you really enjoyed it".



And to those criticising Alesha. I'd have to agree. She would be great presenting It Takes Two, but she is terrible as a judge! Look at her score for Chelsee. Chelsee is a good dancer usually, but no-one can deny that she cocked her routine up on Saturday night. To give her a high score because she was upset and crying is a joke. Alesha has absolutely no credibility whatsoever. And her treatment of Nancy was pretty bad - I didn't like Nancy either, but as a judge Alesha should at least try and be impartial.

I thought Miss Dixons comment about Nancy was uncold for and I thought Nancy showed real dignity and made Miss D just seem unkind after all there are ways and means of telling someone how good or bad a dancer they are and what she said wasnt nice....Other than that little moan I am really enjoying the show.And may I congratulate you for your good ratings you deserve them.Still rooting for Russell and Flavia and hope Russell's knee is ok he is doing great dancing through the pain so WELL DONE RUSSELL !!!!.

I thought Nancy was better this week and I have just watched the red button coverage and Karen Hardy even said it. So maybe she should be pleased to leave on her best performance, even if I think the judges under marked it. I think her Rumba was better than her Tango.



Maybe people who work for the show do read our comments. This week Len said he wasn’t surprised that Audley was in the bottom two as he was in the bottom two on the judges scores and even better Claudia didn’t ask the dancers if they were surprised to be in the bottom two.



I understand that Alesha often gives the highest marks and I can live with that but I would prefer that she only gives 10 for performances that are, at least near perfect.



With regard to Robbie, I felt that his hip thrusting and hand gestures fit with the Michael Jackson music and I think he gave a great performance. I was disappointed no judges commented on his cape work. I understand it is difficult to do and I thought he did it well (Karen said it was very good).

Well I rest my case! Totally unintelligble reply! Whoever is controlling the typing, what do you mean by "let slip something which is totally out of turn"? As for the comments in two posts,went away to make a cup of coffee, returned, decided I had more to say and posted it. Mea Culpa! Must try to resist the caffeine in future and concentrate on continuity. Consecutive posts to different people are I take it acceptable? Must be. You do it. Read the comments.Robbie Savage can't dance and if Ola is predominantly responsible for their choreography she should know better than to rely on the sleaze factor to keep them in the competition. Latin should be sensual, yes. But I and many others who have posted comments are able to distinguish between Robbie's pathetic vulgar attempts and sensuality.

Robbie has been sold to us as the "Bad Boy" of football. Ola just made the most of this matching the choreography to the song and the person. Remember Gavin kissing Bruno last year. For someone who has NEVER danced before Robbie has surprised us with far more natural rhythm than many previous celebrities.



As for Alesha and her comments. How short a memory people have. Craig has been far crueller and Arlene is still known for her cutting comments. It is all part of the show, just that Alesha has more of a shock factor when she lets rip as she is generally more positive and nice.

Oh my goodness. What are you on SCD Fanatic? I think that's the reason fanatics get a bad name - they are so fanatical they are unable to understand that others may have a different point of view. Clearly you and Lincolnduncan can't agree but could you not be a little less biting in your language? I think it sort of illustrates what we're talking about - taking things to extremes as Robbie did. As you know I thought his performance was distasteful and I was honestly shocked when I read his Tweet that his five year old does this movement. But that's his perogative. Mine is to not like such displays and I have the right to express my thoughts. Just as you have the right to enjoy the performance. Like Robbie should have done, lets all have a cold shower.

For the record I like Michael Jackson. He was talented, a superb dancer, and a great performer. Sadly he died way too young. My comments on performance were concerning Robbie Savage, not Michael Jackson.

Why does everyone especially on ITT seem to think that Chelsea is a good dancer. Watch her legs and feet closely............she is not that good, and why keep going on about the dress incident if as she says she was so "embarrassed". For goodness sake why cant everyone see through her,,,,,,,,If she was worried about the dress, then why not wear something a bit more suitable ie., cover up girl..........but then she would have to have a brain cell to think of that..............I am sorry but the girl not that good..........
