Week 2 - Leaderboard

I think they all did very well, enjoyed watching them all, they can and will get better as the weeks go. well done to all xx

Especially Robbie and Ola.



Title of 'Most Improved Partnership' must go to a clearly elated Robbie and Ola going on his face last night. Beaming? You could have got sunburn looking at that kisser! I had to turn down my contrast on my TV! Beaming didn't sum it up.



A clear difference of 10 between the score achieved in Week 1 and the score achieved in Week 2 is seen above. Nobody achieved that last year. And that is of course a result of doing something else nobody achieved last year. Performing so poorly in the Week 1 dance and responding with such a fantastically improved performance in the next week. He was what I assume to be 3rd bottom with both Lulu and Edwina both scoring 17 and Nancy scoring 12. This week he was equal 3rd top with the same score as Chelsee and only Jason and Holly scoring better.



I think if you look at where they finished that is pretty much where they rank in my view. I am sure it will be a slog but I just think if Robbie applies himself in the way he did last week I see no reason why he cannot certainly get in among the top 4-5 in that table.

Robbie was certainly the big surprise of the night - good for him, I loved his performance and Ola's choreography (although I'm still a bit puzzled by the umbrella)



I think Edwina and Vincent may be the couple most at risk of leaving the show, although Anton doesn't deserve to stay in after that poor excuse for a Salsa - why did he try to play the comic card again? I've always been an Anton fan, but last night was a big disappointment and not fair on Nancy. Dan may have saved himself for another week with the back flip and Audley with his infectious enthusiasm (I can't stop looking at his feet, though).



Chelseeeeeee, Harry, Holly and Alex could all be very exciting to watch if they carry on working as they obviously have done this week. Thought Jase and Anita were both a bit overmarked, but great to watch and looking forward to seeing more of them.

I thought Anita was overmarked as well. She was all over the place at times but the worst for me was her posture. Her shoulders were really rounded and none of the judges picked up on it. I noticed that Craig was alot more polite this week!

The umbrella Pennydropper was used as a confidence booster for Robbie after his confidence took a severe battering by CRH's score of 2 and it worked he did very well.



Afraid I have to disagree doctordancingdiva Anita granted yes I'll give you that one it was all over the place at times some gremlins in there but she didn't let it get to her and smiled and carried on regardless the marks were deserved.



As we have seen middle of the road on the leaderboard is a dangerous place to be for some couples as we have seen in previous series and I would like Russell saved just for entertainment value.



If the stooge couples get saved the next two choices for me for bottom two would be.

You might not agree with me but Rory and Erin okay there was a lot of good stuff in his routine but I wonder is that the best he can give.

Also it's Broadway night next week and I would like to see Anita and Robin go through to next week because she has starred in some West End productions and will bring her stage presence to the table next week.

Hi s.c.d lovers, what a lovely show last night, thought Jason and Kristina were brilliant again and they were top of the leader board for the 2nd week running, I didnt think much of Edwina and Vincents dance, Len was correct they spent far too long at the table, I didnt think Edwina should of started saying to Vincent I told you Len would say that didnt I, didnt I say that, thought that was most rude of her, poor Anton and Nancy coming bottom of the leader board once again, think they will go tonight ive Im honest, but people do love Anton, so they may stay in for a while longer, thought Russell and Flavia were good realy, dont think they will be voted off for a good while yet, they have all stepped up with their dancing, but someone has to go every week, think it may be Anton or even Lulu this week, loved Holly too, thought she was realy good this week, looking farward to watching i.t.t this week, love the show with Zoe, looking farward to seeing Claudia back tonight for the results show, good luck to all the contestants tonight, in the meantime keep dancing!

Fergal @ 6: bit risky to use a prop to boost your sleb's confidence, I think. Also, what did it have to do with 'Kick in the Head'? I'm guessing Ola was going for a 'Singing in the Rain' reference, but I could have done without the umbrella - the routine was gorgeous and used all the musical accents - how about Robbie's timing throwing his head back when Ola kicked? Brilliant.

The first two weeks have been OK but and while I think its early days there does not seem a natural dancer apart from perhaps Chelsee.

Jason is all performance (which is probably not a probelm to win this show) but lacks some control and its the other way around for Holly and Harry. Robbie Savage did better but I'm not going to go overboard about him. Think the overall talent level was higher last year.

Anton needs to go. Mr Ballroom has always had trouble with Latin, and as a result his choreography and his delivery sold Nancy short. She has not been lucky in her pairing. Fingers crossed Anton's mugging and messing gets kicked to the kerb early this year so we can ofcus on the dancing.

I think you might find that Anton has had to severely limit his choreography because Nancy is just not up to it. Nancy couldn't even do the basic moves, so he had to put some lifts and turns to make her look better. The stuff at the beginning was showy without the dance moves, because she wasn't up to it. Shame, for Anton - HE deserves better.

I agree with you but Anton should take it more seriously, I feel that he is only there for the laugh. I think Anton and Nancy are going to be the first one to go tonight, the rest of the couple improved on last week. I know that it is not easy to do a routine in front of millions.

Harsh *sucks air through gritted teeth*. Depends on what you define as 'performance'. I think a good performance as you may be implying (the showmanship; the dramatic presentation) is half the battle won imho.



I have said before I know as much about dancing as I do about flying the USS Enterprise so you could talk till blue in the face about it and I would not be the wiser about the merits of a routine. But whilst I certainly am of the opinion a celeb may not look to me the smoothest in terms of the actual dancing, I think that could come. A decent performance, without necessarily the polished technical side, at this stage can keep you in I think. I am of the view that all dancers tell a story through not only the routine but also the way they present that routine.



And as for the overall talent level being higher, certainly the top 4 and Jimi Mistry stood out for me as showing gift. But that is all.

Can some one please tell me what is going on on planet Nancy, I think Anton made the best of a bad job because he knew that Nancy just didn't know the routine. Absolutely the most improved was Robbie and will be one to watch. All the rest, even Russell are just in the mix but next to be spat out will be Lulu, Nancy and possibly Dan and Audley.

Every year there are good, not so good, entertainers and dancers who astonish us with improvement - and we have only seen them dance 2 dances (for some 2 Latin or 2 ballroom, some 1 of each).



Give the poor things a chance!



Ooh, must mention the pro-dancers "Fame" shoots in Celebs on Sunday (Daily Mirror). Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Robin looks like a little ninja :)

Just say it as I saw it guys and this year in no way is as bad as 2009 when only really Ricky Whittle stood out as a dancer.

Jason Donavan can dance but I wish he would can the overacting, what I like to see is a clean dance with a performance to match the dance. Its a differicult balance.

Hi PennyDropper. I think your assessment of last night was pretty good. Edwina & Vincent definetely overdid their intro at the table and as a result there wasn't enough dancing which resulted in low scores. A bit more dance content would surely have seen a respectable score. Anita was definetely overmarked. I didn't think it was the greatest dance and the judges said they spotted a few errors but because they enjoyed it and Anita captured the party spirit they gave her extra marks that shouldn't have been there.



With Jason it was a great dance but if the judges had issues with it then it shouldn't have got 8s or 9s although havung said that because of the other scores I don't think it mattered so much as he would still have been top of the leaderboard.



Regardless of who goes though the jury is still out on Holly, Nancey and Russell. Russell has got rhythym although I was underwhelmed by his salsa last night and felt he also got overmarked. Holly is clearly very good at latin although she doesn't believe in herself enough to let go which is when the bigger scores could well come but both of them are yet to perform a ballroom. I don't think that will be an issue for Holly as I expect her to get through and have that opportunity. With Russell there are a few more doubts as he is in lower to mid table.



As for Nancey she is in just as much danger as Russell if not more having finished bottom with the judges. The reason why I say the jury is still out on her is because although we could all see her latin wasn't particularly good there is still a question mark as to her ballroom abilities because although she finished bottom that 1st week that was more down to the feather boa disaster than any poor performance on her part

I will agree with you on that, much fuss was made over the acting in that number, which, granted, was very good, but Jason (and Kristina, in a way) is an actor, so surely that's to be expected.

Glad Lulu got through, I remember her in the Lindela in Glasgow way back in 60's.

The leaderboard is a fair reflection of the celebs' abilities. Jason and Anita were slighty overmarked and Harry slighty undermarked so the top five are Jason, Holly, Chelsee, Harry, Anita in that order.

large chunks of the results showed looked very boring - so glad could fast forward. Please you Anton fans - you are supposed to be voting for the celebrity not the professional. Nancy is terrible and should have gone - dont keep her in for weeks because you like Anton

I really did not get Anita's salsa - her legs were not being worked at times and I was really surprised by the judges comments.



I thought Anton was very ungallant saying Nancy said what did I do wrong. If Anton wants to be the comedy act he should make way for another pro dancer - he is really annoying me this season

I was amazed to see Audley in bottom 2. His size may stop him improving enough to win but after Russell he looked to be having the best time, until he heard he was in the bottom two.



I am glad Edwina has gone, her latin was rubbish and the choeography let her down in the foxtrot, but did Vincent do it that way to hide her inadequacy.



I have never seen Anton look so miserable. He has had awful partners in the past but has carried on with a smile. Is he fed up being at the bottom of the leader board or is that woman as awful as she appears.



The only reason she is still in is Anton's fan base. But looking at his face and the training clips - if you really love Anton you will let him go.



I thought Ola had made a mistake with the choreography last week and she rectified it this week. For me it was the best dance of the night. Well done

I am really enjoying the show this year. A good mix of stars but there are always 1 or 2 I would like to see leave the at first opportunity. This year it is Nancy and Edwina. I don't like their, what I would perceive to be, ego's. Edwina as a politician, can't stop talking even when the judges are trying to give their assessment of what happened. She needs to get the last word. Same as Anne, if I remember right. And Nancy because she thinks she is better than she really is! First wish has already happened and looking forward to next week.

Are the judges again favouring old TV stars. Last time it was Pamela Anderson with weekly shots of husband frantically applauding. This year its Anita Dobson with husband Brian May frantically applauding. She actually looked like a Shirley Temple lookalike trying to lick a lollipop. Absolute rubbish.

I feel so sorry for Anton and the pairing with that non-celebrity. I would also see the thing as a comedy in this shoes what else can he do. This is second year in a row he has had a rubbish dancer as a partner. Who does this woman think she is, appart from arrogant and talentless. Vote them off this week to help Anton retain his sanity.
