Rattle and Twang

A static coffee shop-based blog. A splendid thing. Back on the move tomorrow so enjoying the school run pleasures again today. Any transport is preferable to the extraordinary bone rattler that brought me back from York yesterday. The terrifying noises that came from under the floor were such that-had we been on a plane-everyone would have been praying hard/on the booze/both. The guard had to reassure passengers that there was nothing to worry about but the aural evidence was not promising. All drinks were spilled, all attempts at walking were proved unwise. Terra Firma at Kings Cross was a relief.

Today I'm a judge for a children's story competition and wondering whether having only written 2 novels gives you the right to judge others work. Probably not is my conclusion but too late. The books are read and opinions formed. Let argument commence! (or let's just agree within 10 minutes and go to lunch)

Today I'm recording Jessie J and Tom Jones for the return of The Voice-you can hear that soon (he says vaguely).

And at 6 today it's Carrie Underwood, American Idol winner, 5 times Grammy winner and star of the Country to Country gigs at the O2 in London which is being transformed into a mini Nashville for the weekend. She's an amazing performer and genuine, big time star. So let's do NASHVILLE tunes today and let's TWANG!
