Fantastically cold, fantastically sunny. On way to glamorous Essex for some Lit. Festival action. Cheery chat with cheery cabbie and we are on our way. And good morning by the way...

Yesterday's chat with Carrie Underwood was good fun and I love talking to the Nashville stars. We have nothing like it really. It is the quintessential American music of course but when it's done properly, you can only sit back and admire the craftsmanship. And that's some voice she's got.

Before Carrie, I recorded a chat with Jessie J and Sir Tom which'll go out in 2 weeks, just before the return of The Voice. They were both on fantastic form and clearly good mates now who are only committing to the new series because the other one is. And Jessie loved my glasses, so she's a sweetie.

Nigel has a classic pudding lined up-that's a Spotted Dick and homemade custard (Sally already a little concerned) perfect for a cold evening such as tonights (and for the next few weeks). And our annual trip to CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL for the oldies please. It may well be you choose the same bookie/jumping/penniless/horse related tune you did last time, but thats is just fine. And you know that song by Racing Cars? I wouldnt this time...

Have a cheery and well behaved Thursday. See you after 5
