Saga for all ages

Well Wednesday already. And around these parts it was blowing a hoolie. The sounds of bins, flowerpots and the inebriated rattling around the street carried on for quite some time. Ear plugs were found, alarm duly slept through, running late. So it goes…

So who’s this Saga woman you’re talking about then? Well the short answer is Sofia Margareta Götschenhjelm Helin (ok not that short). She is the actress who plays the brilliant if tricksy Swedish detective Saga Norén in the Scandi-noir series The Bridge which returns for a third series this weekend. Maybe you missed it, maybe you’re a devotee. Anyway it has revolved around the 2 main cops, Saga and a gruff but more genial Danish cop called Martin. Well now he’s in jail (shopped by Saga) and so it is a one cop show now. As far as we know. Saga has Aspergers, not that it is ever spelt out, but her social awkwardness, applied to fellow cops and criminals alike, provides many of the memorable scenes from The Bridge. Sofia is here at 6 and SONGS ABOUT BRIDGES are needed right now.
