Longest day, maximum daylight so let's hope it's a good one. With that in mind, I'm off early for a chat with Kevin Spacey. It seemed the decent thing to do seeing as he's gone and made a film. He can't just be left sitting in a room by himself now can he? It's a good film too-Baby Driver has a soundtrack you'll love and some car chases that you'll love. I'll tell him you said hi.
So today's show is appropriately sparkly. William Dalrymple and Anita Anand have written a book called Koh-I-Noor. It's a history they say of the world's most infamous diamond. It's currently in the crown of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother but it has had quite an astonishing history, full of mayhem, myth and turmoil. It's a fascinating history and these are two fine storytellers.
Time for DIAMOND related oldies? I think so.
