So well done us. Radio 2 is station of the year and it's glasses of cordial all round. A bauble and a trinket maybe but a shiny one indeed and you may share in the glory. Loved having Mark Ellen in (you could tell? and a splendidly nostalgic show it was. Who'd have thought that radiograms was going to be such a goer? We were a show with valves and they were all glowing last night!
Today we welcome Gareth Malone who is off with a new choir and a new tour and the old beard. He was a bearded sensation before everyone wanted one. And if anyone has done more to raise the awareness of choral singing, I'd be surprised. Even I'd join one of his choirs. I might not last long but I'd sway and clap until they discovered I couldn't sing. So GARETH MALONE oldies please and keep in tune at the back.
