Well good morning groovers and erstwhile denizens of the blog. Friday is here and a jolly good thing it is too. Bones and muscles may ache, bills may need attention, exams may need taking/revising for, the grass may need attention. Work might be stressful, your colleagues may be muppets, you might have missed every episode of Peaky Blinders and therefore unable to join most conversations BUT you know that your All Request Friday will be on at 5.05pm. Complete with its cast of cute kids, happy families in transit, prosecco-poppers, hen night revellers and Jeremy Vine fans.
But where to start? Well it appears to be those far flung days of 1990. The BBC launched its first new radio station for 23 years, step forward Radio 5. Rowan Atkinson’s Mr Bean appeared for the first time and Stephen Hendry is the youngest snooker champion at 21. At the movies it was Dances With Wolves, Pretty Woman, Home Alone and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And on the radio? Who wants what?
