And a happy music day to you too. I love this idea of the blue plaques going up to mark significant music figures around the UK, top work from BBC Local Radio. This is our annual national celebration of music, and this year's theme is the power of music.
At 7pm, just as we're handing over to Bob, bells will ring out in support of BBC Music Day at multiple locations across the country and worldwide. It's not an invasion! Don't panic! As part of today's celebrations we'll be talking to Christopher O'Mahony, the president of the Central Council of Church Bellringers.
Christopher will give us a guide to bell-ringing, tell us about the 255 groups worldwide taking part, and explain more about their world record attempt. Being an ex-campanologist myself, I am well tuned to the mystery of the bell chamber - hear more today AND choose SONGS WITH BELLS ON!
Of course!
And Nigel chips in with an elderflower custard tart with poached gooseberries. Good day planned here!
