And a very good morning to you too. The cusp of a new frosty weekend and already plans are being made, journeys calculated, bottles of pop placed in the fridge (does anyone actually say ‘pop’ anymore? Did anyone ever use say it? Maybe it was just in comics…). Hope you’ve enjoyed the shows this week. I’ve just been looking at the photos of Ed Sheeran on the show yesterday. We are, in my mind, just separated by a few years; I’m the sixth former, he’s the cheeky third year. Then I do the maths and realise the inescapable fact that I’m more like the teacher/headteacher/OFSTED inspector. But what a delightful chap he is and what a meteoric rise the Framlingham boy has had. Good tunes in the house at the moment from Rhiannon Giddens. The former Carolina Chocolate Drops singer has a debut solo album produced by T Bone Burnett. It’s called Tomorrow Is My Turn and I awfully expect young Bob Harris to be playing it very soon.
Movie show duets followed by an ARF that kicks off with vibes and grooviness from 1968. A year of revolution, unrest and Esther and Abi Ofarim. Hair opens on Broadway, as does Thames Television in London and Apple Records in New York. Dads Army airs for the first time and the Ford Escort replaces the Anglia. Different times but some great music to play with…
