Cravat and poise

Cheery wave! Warm smile! Sincerest greetings! Another lovely week begins here! (A positive start would’t you say?)

Hope the weekend was a good one. My highlights were coffee, lemon tart and a rather lovely ale. I realise this reveals me to be shallow and epicurean but that is the embarrassing truth. Obviously I cannot reveal further details unless provoked. But no one loves a coffee/tart/beer bore apart from other coffee/tart/beer bores so unless you are one…My abstemious week begins here (unless tempted).

First decision is whether to go to the '500 most important and fabulously gorgeous folk in the university’ do tonight. I’ve been put on the list because of the book club so maybe I should go and hand out copies of our new book ‘Girl On A Train’. That way I can hide behind the veneer of respectability that the R2BC gives me. I shall wear my glasses, look studious and hope no one rumbles me. The good news is that Girl on a Train is a first rate thriller-unsettling, mysterious, intriguing- and its author Paula Hawkins is on to a real winner. Read a chapter here and then hear Paula tonight from 6. And so therefore...songs for girls on trains (and boys). There are so many totally terrific TRAIN TRAVEL TUNES to choose from….
