New shoe leather needed

And good morning to you fair bloggers. A lovely Thursday beckons around these parts even if there is a certain weariness in my step (until the broccoli, cabbage and ginger smoothie kicks in). In fact I’ve just got in. This is because of my late night showbiz lifestyle which took me to see the West End Smash ‘Gypsy’ starring Imelda Staunton. She’s on the show on Monday and what a star she is. A standing ovation was what she got and she totally dominated this production. The truth is I never even knew she could sing! The woman next to me had seen Ethel Merman in the title role years ago and said this was better. Anyway, then I had to walk home. No tubes so we all pounded the streets then piled in the scrum that surrounded a bus stop. A few full buses went past, then singing songs and swapping photos of loved ones, we edged our way onto a night bus which looped London twice, then stopped on the outskirts somewhere. I gave piggybacks to the needy and infirm, then made it home. Well done everybody.

Food is what I need. Can I last till Nigel’s Moroccan Carrot Tart Tatin? Probably not but sounds good to me. Quite what a carrot has got to do with a tart tatin I have no idea but all will be revealed. And tunes please for the new series of Coast which screens tonight. Nick Crane and co are back looking at how we are obsessed with getting to the coast for our holidays. COASTAL oldies please! Buckets spade and small flags optional.
