What ho! Wednesday already and we’re cruising now. Cool and breezy around these parts-20 degrees cooler than last Wednesday. I have a feeling my new fan (air blowing variety) will be called on before this summer is out but for now, the cardigan is getting an early reprieve.
Just seeing that I am 10-1 with a betting firm to replace Jim Naughtie on the Today programme on Radio 4. This is terrific stuff. There is no chance of it happening (I know you’ve heard that before somewhere else) as I have no interest in going anywhere but just to be mentioned in this way will make my mother happy. Replacing Thought for the Day with Confessions might liven things up however and if they’d do All Request Friday you never know…(actually you do. Drivetime forever).
Super top-notch Melvyn Bragg is with us today. There is a fabulous documentary on Melvyn on BBC2 next weekend 'Wigton to Westminster’. Here is a man who has done docs on everyone but now he is the subject and what a life he has had. I could listen to him for hours but 20 minutes will have to do. Meantime MELVYN BRAGG oldies will fill the gap.
