Well it's Drivetime's festive night out tonight. I do recommend an evening out led by Nigel Barden if you can fix one. It's a bit like being six years old again and dining with your parents; Nigel tells you what is going to be best. He has a word with the owner, the owner's staff and the head chef. Nigel looks at the menu and orders for everyone. Food arrives and everything is fabulous. Not making choices is so relaxing. Before you know where you are you've eaten something you've never seen before and never even asked for chips. Or maybe you did, who knows.
Today's super Christmasy edition features the wonderful Victoria Wood. Her musical 'That Day We Sang' is on TV this Christmas. It stars Imelda Staunton and our own Michael Ball and is terrific. It's a musical (on TV! A very rare thing) set in Manchester 1969 and 1929 and tells the story of Enid and Tubby, two of the members of the Manchester Schools Children's Choir who made the iconic recording of Purcell's Nymphs and Shepherds. It's classic Wood and full of warmth, jokes about yoghurt and lovely songs. Don't miss it or her.
We'll take your songs for the FAMILY and RELATIVES as you make your plans for next week and we bow out tonight with Dr Mosh offering his annual ChrisMosh to close the show.
Then it's time for a lemonade.
