A light sprinkling here, turning the brown and dreary estate into something approaching presentable. You know your youngest is growing up when you are more excited about the snow than they are. I was tempted to scrape enough snow together and start a fight but he just wanted to sleep. Ho hum. If there's enough to cancel school he's interested but anything less than that and he's not. I remember a very few days off school - wild tobogganing down a hill, ending up in a deserted empty swimming pool was a particular highlight. There's nothing more exciting than a snow day and maybe there'll be one soon but it ain't today in this house.
Hope all bloggers had a good weekend- a trip to 'Life of Pi' for us and a viewing of 'Flight' the new Denzil Washington movie. 'Pi' has 11 Oscar nominations and Denzil has one for best actor. ARF was full of folk going to Les Mis and quite right too; Mrs M keen for a trip soon and I'm very happy for a return visit. Hugh Jackman won Best Actor at the Golden Globes last night so I think we should do SONGS ABOUT SINGING if that's not too confusing.
Speaking of which, the terrific Aimee Mann, Oscar nominated for her songs in Magnolia, will be on Drivetime today. She came and sang when I stood in for Johnnie Walker on a Sunday afternoon a few years back and she is a great performer. She appeared at the White House last year, plays London's Royal Festival Hall on the 28th and Celtic Connections in Glasgow on the 30th. but Drivetime first.
Have a sure-footed and well-balanced Monday, see you after 5.
