An early morning of culture. As the snow was falling and the road/rail networks were giving up the ghost, I was deep into the new BBC series Civilisations. Not for me the usual breakfast fun with Chris/news/travel/ weather etc but culture, art and a sun-lit Simon Schama. This is a major new series on TV with Simon, Mary Beard and David Olusoga and it will make you smarter. So I might be as cold as everyone else but I know about the civilization of Petra. This gives me an inner glow and a righteous smugness to see me through the day. More useful than chocolate. And this is for a purpose of course, Simon Schama is on today to tease you about the joys of civilisations and why it’ll be worth every second of your time.
And elsewhere, its the National Pub of the Year awards today so lets stretch to try a PUB PLAYLIST.
Salut!
