Hooray for Monday! Who needs another pesky weekend full of its relaxation, lie-ins and fine eating? Not us! We renounce such weedy, effete behaviour. We endorse the hard working, no resting, no playing aesthetic that has made this blog the envy of all (ok we get the picture, you can shut up now).

Today, suitably trim and having burnt off all I put on, we welcome Robert Harris to the Bookclub. The bestselling author of Fatherland, Enigma and The Fear Index has a new novel An Officer and A Spy. It is a retelling of the Dreyfus affair which scandalised France and much of the world in the 1890s. It is one of the great miscarriages of justice of all time and a story full of modern significance; think whistleblowers, corruption and cover-ups. There's a chapter here for you to sample if you want to be ahead of the class. Go on, impress teacher.
