Thursday’s blog then has whizzed around and here we are contemplating another culinary wonder from Nigel. Now you can dress this up many ways, give it a French name and season it with parmesan shavings but basically it’s trout in paper. Fish in a bag. It’s not a thrilling prospect really but the boil-in-a-bag cod- in-sauce, too-many-hyphens meal was an old favourite from student days. So maybe it’ll be fine although I doubt Nige will be serving it with salt and vinegar crisps. I’ll have some in my bag ready to go when he’s not looking.
And it is nearly eclipse time again! Tomorrow at 9.31am is the moment for the precious few.The more northerly you are the better and it isn’t going to be 100% for anyone but it should still be worthy of your attention-it won’t be happening again here for 10 years. If i remember correctly from 1999, even a 90% eclipse will still be quite light as 10% of the sun is actually quite a lot of sun. 1999 in Cornwall was a wonderful moment even though radio commentary on the eclipse might not seem riveting. The Pet ShopBoys had composed a piece of music. 20,000 people in a field were getting rained on all and all of us were experiencing a natural wonder. We gasped, cried and hugged the attractive person next to us (in my case Zoe Ball). So how about ECLIPSE oldies and see what happens...
