It's Friday I'm In Hove

Well it's a lovely place and has wide pavements. These things matter. However let's start with a round of applause and a gentle pat on the back for Jo Whiley. She doubtless aches all over but will feel fantastic after managing the 26 hours on the treadmill. The telltale sign she had been going for a very long time was when Chris Martin from Coldplay announced the band wanted to donate 10K for every hour of Jo's effort. Jo was beyond gasping/hollering/whooping, said thanks and moved on! I loved the cast of Spamalot on the show yesterday, impossible not to smile at Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life-online viewing was a bonus too. All the best to everyone involved in Sport Relief activities today.
Movie show with the other Chris Evans as guest star. The new Captain America movie is with us and Chris is our super hero, defrosted from WW2 and trying to adjust to life in the 21st century. Not just the technology but the moral uncertainty and ambiguity too. But of course he has to biff a lot of people and he biffs very well.
Then, wearing my ARF superhero outfit, I shall swoop into Radio 2 and declare 1981 the opening year of requirement.Dare, Ghost in the Machine and Abacab were some of the big sellers. Chariots of Fire opened, the London Marathon started and the Sinclair ZX81 was the computer of the moment. And your top song would be?
It's almost the weekend. Your place at 5.
