Phew. Arriving at Monday with a kitchen full of crushed fruit, empty bottles and cake crumbs. That’s a post-birthday clear-up happening right there. Child 1 has reached 25 and we are all very old. But we BBQ’d and watched the tennis, then BBQ’d and watched the football. The tennis was joyous, the football was pants (though well done Portugal) and everyone had a fine time. Enough cake and hot dogs for a while however…

So onwards! Justin Hayward has a new album and is off on tour in September. He’s been making music for HALF A CENTURY! And after we played the full version of Nights In White Satin it will be good to talk about those early days, his approach to blending pop and classical and why he still loves touring.

And music for CHAMPIONS please. What else is there to do after Andy Murray, Lewis Hamilton and Portugal grabbed the headlines? Plus at Wimbledon Heather Watson won in the mixed doubles (with Henry Kontinen), Gordon Reid won in the Men’s Wheelchair Singles and Jordanne Whiley won the Wheelchair Women’s Doubles with Yui Kamiji. Champions all! So well done to all them and a song or two is only fair...
