Up early, read the paper by 6.00. Did the ironing by 6.30, worried about everything until 7am. Coffee. Porridge. Checked social media, worried about everything else. Sara Cox is with me so that's all ok.
Then obviously it's work so read more Maggie O'Farrell. She's a bestseller, a Radio 2 Bookclub author, Costa winner and now the author of 'I am, I am, I am' her memoir. We have had many such books on the show but it's fair to say I've never read a memoir like this. It's sub-title/strap line is 'Seventeen brushes with death' which at least warns you what is on the way. Maggie tells a series of shocking and candid stories which have punctuated her life. Just one of these near-death experiences might come to dominate your life, attitude and outlook-Maggie's had seventeen.
It's a compulsive, electrifying read-hear Maggie after 6.
