Red sky at night

So as the opening bars of Jamie Cullum were airing yesterday, I was donning the leathers, jumping on a taxi bike and heading for the theatre. All of this was for your benefit, not mine you understand; I live only in your service. The play was A View From The Bridge by Arthur Miller and starred the lovely Mark Strong who is due on the show very soon. More on this next week but suffice to say for now-it and he are wonderful. ‘One of the great theatrical productions of the decade’ says The Times this morning. And I only coughed 3 times which wasn’t too irritating for anyone. I think the voice is easing back slowly and hopefully not bugging anyone too much…

And while we are on the subject of top actors, we have Julie Walters today! Always delightful, always engaged, she’s a top guest indeed. Her new show is Indian Summers which started last weekend on Channel 4. It’s India 1932 and she plays the role of Cynthia who runs the Royal Simla Club and is wonderfully manipulative and scheming. Anyway, Julie is a national treasure and she’ll sparkle for you after 6.

And let’s go to Mars. Well let’s join the queue. Five Britons are on a shortlist to be selected for a mission to Mars in 2024-the plan is to form a human settlement. It’s a one way ticket-they aren’t planning to come back. So it’s OFF TO MARS tunes please. I know you have at least 2 songs straight away...
