I have no idea when this will appear but hopefully not too long after writing it. Yesterday was one of those days when weird stuff happens-quite why the February 28th posts reappeared is a mystery-but hopefully all is well now and everything is healthy. Apologies for inconvenience, irritation etc
2 shows today with James McAvoy the guest when we talk movies on 5L. Filth is an 18 certificate for good reason, he plays a violent, misogynistic, homophobic, corrupt, drunken police officer. His performance is astounding but is a tough, grim watch, lightened occasionally by the darkest of humour; David Soul as a cabbie singing Silver Lady for example!
Then we'll ARF from 5 and in honour of the new Sounds of the 80s show, we'll kick off with your choice from 1980. It's Michael Foot as Labour leader (with a 24per cent lead over PM M Thathcer!) The SAS storm the Iranian Embassy, West ham win the FA Cup beating Arsenal and your host is inter-railing around Europe. And you? Your 1980 classic please!
Have a profitable and meeting-free Friday, see you after 5
