Well I ask you. It's always an exciting (ish) moment when Nigel says what next weeks food is going to be. Will be spicy and exotic? Wil it be rich and fabulous? Or will it be grey mullet soup...Well last week how Nigel thrilled us all with the promise of... a trio of autumn salads. Just what we wanted to hear. At the end of a long day, hard toil, sweat on brow and exhaustion in our limbs, what we really need put in front of us is a salad or three.

'Welcome home dear! Good day at work?'
'Not bad thanks. Is supper ready? I'm starving. I deliberately didn't eat any snacks on the way home, avoided the doughnut tray at work and said no to crisps all day...'
'Yes it's all ready. I've prepared a trio of autumn salads.'
PAUSE
'Three salads? Is that like a starter or something?'
'No it's the whole thing. Nige said it was great.You'll be amazed, trust me...'
SILENCE.
THE DOOR IS OPEN, THE HALL IS EMPTY
'Hello? Are you there love? Oh dear...'
