Well here we go with another top week, how was your weekend? Mine was spent getting to and from Twickenham and then in between, seeing U2 perform their Joshua Tree 30th anniversary show. After 'Bono from Twickenham' called All Request Friday it seemed the least I could do. And what a show it was. Few bands fill a stadium like these guys and their new, astonishing, hi-def, jumbo screen delivered such brilliant quality films to accompany the tunes, that at times it felt more like art. I put The Joshua Tree CD on yesterday and marvelled all over again.
So today we welcome Jonathan Lynn, co-writer with Anthony Jay of Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. This makes him a comedy icon no? Jonathan has written 'Samaritans' a darkly comic novel about the American health care system. Jonathan lives in New York and it's fair to say he's not impressed with what he's seeing! Jonathan after 6.
And as Bruno Tonioli starts his new opera series on Radio 2 tonight, let's do GOING TO THE OPERA oldies please!
