I am on a train from Leeds . It's v busy and everyone appears v earnest and busy. So I am too. Spreadsheets, stocks, trading and shouting - it's not like my normal sedate tube trip. Anyway the Playhouse in Leeds last night was rocking to witty bonhomie and ironic asides so not a bad start to the week.
A top week on the way with Maureen Lipman on the show today, one of our best loved actresses. And a writer. And a comedian. And, 25 years on, still Beattie from the British Telecom ads. She's written quite a few books and her latest is a collection of drawings she has done of famous faces...imagined as animals. It's a Lipman-agerie of course starring Brad Pitbull, Andy Warrhog and Jake Gorillenhall. You get the idea.
And your oldies inspired by Andy Murray becoming the number one ranked tennis player in the world - BEING NUMBER ONE tunes would be a very fine thing.
See you at 5, trains and traders permitting
