I blame it on my youth

One of the many genuine delights of working at Wogan House is bumping into folks. Not just old radio heroes like Bob H and Johnnie W but assorted stars who are stopping by for a chat. So the other day (on my way to John Lyndon actually) I walked past Francis Rossi on the stairs! A strange place to pass on condolences but I said how sorry I was about the passing of Rick Parfitt and we talked awhile as producers and programme staff hurried on their way. Then, at the top of the stairs, Bob H introduced me to a guest he had on his show who was in to record some tunes for him. Sam Outlaw was his name and he seemed a fine chap indeed. His album is called Tenderheart and Bob thought it might be my kind of thing. And you know what? Sir Bob is dead right. The songs are, as the title suggests, tenderly sung, warm-hearted country- a young Don Williams maybe with a voice like Jackson Browne. Good enough for you?

Publishing royalty today! The author of The Gruffalo and the illustrator of We're Going On A Bear Hunt have got together to produce a new children's book 'The Giant Jumperee'. It's about a rabbit called Rabbit (makes it easier) who finds that's there is something in her burrow, loudly proclaiming to being the very scary 'giant jumperee'. A succession of her animal friends are too scared to deal with it , but don't worry dear blog reader, everything is all right in the end! Phew! It is all about BRAVERY and so BRAVE tunes will stir the soul...
