And good morning to you. Well what a delight John Simpson was. I've spoken to him before but always 'down the line' when he's been elsewhere. Sometimes that's been a war zone somewhere - Iraq, Afghanistan - or sometimes he's just been stuck in another studio. So to have 20 minutes in the same studio was very enlightening. And having a 10 year old son at 72 is clearly keeping him on his toes, even if he might not look forward to the parents race at sports day...
Plus yesterday I wonder how many listeners changed their tea plans to have burgers? That festive burger idea has already been requested here. Bread sauce on a burger! Best idea ever! (Might even prefer it to Christmas lunch?)
And today we follow up Izaak and his mum who 2 Fridays ago called up on their way to Antarctica. Classic Friday night out. We've been trying to get hold of them out there but failing to get that 3G signal...so first hour oldies for EXPLORING ANTARCTICA.
Then it's a Tunesday and we can all take the long way home/ask for silence in the kitchen.
