Murky, damp, autumnal. Still holidays but feeling back-to-school around these parts. My computer screen is shining brightly into the darkness, providing that oh-so flattering early morning reflection. Wow. Where’s the TV make up department when you need it?
Enjoyed the Tunesday yesterday, especially the Road To Hell Parts 1 and 2. It becomes a completely different beast once you’ve added the blues, gospel and ghostliness of the first 4 minutes. Then I got a migraine (not Chris Rea’s fault) so the last half hour was full flashing lights to go with the tunes; it was very 70s disco.
Today we have some classic raconteur time with former English cricket star Graeme Swann and commentator pal Henry Blofeld who are off on a tour called The Great British Spin Off. Henry called in on our Edinburgh shows last year (none from me this year, sadly) and I hope he is sporting another fabulous blazer.
And the summer oldies season continues (I’ve just decided that's what it is) with CAMPING AND CARAVANNING oldies! Stake that ground, bash those pegs, erect that pole. Attach the gas, fix the awning, pass the ice bucket.
And keep that radio on...
